NSM2311

The NSM2311 is a NOVOSENSE integrated current sensor that measures the current with a low impedance and a high current capacity in a single module. Instead of a discrete shunt and an amplifier, the device places the conductor and the sensing together, so the measurement is compact, the insertion loss is low and the isolation between the high-current path and the output is built in, which suits a high-side or a high-voltage measurement where a direct shunt would be difficult. The output is an analog signal that the controller reads directly, and the design targets the current measurement in a motor drive, a power converter and a battery system, with the accuracy and the thermal behavior that a power application needs. Because the current path and the sensing are integrated, the layout is simple and the parasitic inductance is low, which helps in a fast-switching stage. The device is designed for an automotive and an industrial environment. Typical applications include the phase current of a motor drive, the output current of a power converter and the current of a battery and a charging system.
