NOVOSENSE NSi6801B-DSWFR single-channel reinforced isolated gate driver, 5 A peak, 5.7 kV isolation and a high CMTI, drop-in for an opto driver.
The NSi6801B-DSWFR is a NOVOSENSE single-channel reinforced isolated gate driver that sources and sinks a 5 A peak current, in a small package, and it is pin-compatible with a popular opto-coupled gate driver for a drop-in upgrade. It uses the NOVOSENSE capacitive isolation barrier with an on-off-keying modulation, so it provides a high noise immunity, a low radiated emission and a common-mode transient immunity of at least 150 kV/us, which keeps the gate signal clean in a fast-switching power stage. The driver side operates with a supply voltage up to 32 V and includes an under-voltage lockout, and the propagation delay is about 75 ns with a pulse-width distortion of about 30 ns, so it suits a high-frequency MOSFET, IGBT or SiC gate. The device operates over -40 °C to 125 °C, and the reinforced isolation and the robust CMTI make it a clean and long-life alternative to an opto driver in a motor drive, an inverter, a power supply or an automotive power stage.
